Admissions Policy & Pool Rules
These rules keep everyone safe in the water. They apply to every swimmer, at every session.
MACPool Admission Policy
Download PDF of MACPool Admission Policy- Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied in the swimming pool by a parent or responsible adult aged 18 or older who is a competent swimmer. The maximum ratio is one adult to two children under 8 years old.
- Unaccompanied children aged 8 years and over are restricted to a session of no more than one hour.
- The pool rules apply to EVERYONE, please respect and obey instructions from the lifeguard.
- No photography or videos allowed, please respect other swimmers' privacy.
- MACPool reserves the right to refuse admission.

- You may not enter the pool under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No jewellery is to be worn in the pool (except small stud or ring earrings, wedding and engagement rings, watches, light necklace etc.)
- No masks, snorkels or monofins to be used during public sessions.
- Training fins may be used excluding fun sessions i.e. family fun at the supervisor's discretion.
- Personal toys, balls and inflatables may be brought into fun sessions however you may be asked to remove them at the supervisor's discretion if they pose a hazard.
- If you have a health condition or injury that presents a hazard to yourself in the use of this facility you must inform a member of staff.

- No running.
- No bombing.
- No excessive splashing.
- No ducking.
- No bullying or fighting.
- No food or drink to be consumed in the pool hall or changing area. Water/sports drinks are permitted provided a plastic or metal bottle is used.
- No diving into water less than 1.5m deep unless under training from a professional instructor or qualified and part of a swimming event (i.e. Swimming Gala).
- No dives allowed from blocks unless part of an instructor led session.
- No running dives, backward dives or dives without hands in front of heads.
- No somersault entries.
- No indiscriminate diving.
- No prolonged swimming underwater unless part of a supervised session.
- No jewellery to be worn in the pool (except small stud or ring earrings, wedding and engagement rings, watches, light necklace etc.).
- No jumping onto floats from the poolside.
- No standing on floats.
- No throwing.
- No excessive shouting.
- No swearing.
- No heavy petting.
- No masks, snorkels and/or fins during public sessions.
- No monofins.
